Terms & Conditions 

1. About Our Services
Starlight Bridge Birth provides **non-medical** emotional, physical, and informational support during pregnancy, labor, birth, and the early postpartum period. Services may include:
- Prenatal visits and discussions
- Continuous support during labor and birth (in-person or virtually, depending on your plan and location rules)
- Postpartum visits and support
- Unlimited phone, text, or email support during agreed-upon time periods

We are **not** medical professionals. We do **not**:
- Provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment
- Perform clinical tasks (like checking dilation, fetal heart tones, or delivering babies)
- Replace doctors, midwives, nurses, or any licensed healthcare provider

You should always follow the guidance of your healthcare team for medical decisions.

 

2. Booking and Agreement
To receive services, you must:
- Complete an intake form
- Sign a client agreement (which includes these Terms)
- Pay any required deposit or fees

Our services are personal and reserved especially for you. Once we accept your booking, we hold that time slot and may turn away other clients.

3. Fees and Payment
Fees are for services only and are outlined in your client agreement or invoice.
- A non-refundable deposit is usually required to secure your spot.
- Full payment is typically due by [e.g., 36–38 weeks gestation or another agreed date].
- Accepted payment methods: Most Major Credit and Debit Cards, Cash, Check, ACH Payment, and Venmo

Late payments may result in late fees, halt in services until paid, or cancellation of contract at my discretion.

4. Cancellation and Refund Policy
- You may cancel anytime by notifying us in writing (email is fine).
- If you cancel before 36 weeks, then I may refund a portion of your package price based on reason for cancellation and specifications outlined in your signed contract.
- Cancellations after 36 weeks, or once on-call period begins are generally non-refundable, as we have reserved time for you.
- If we cannot attend your birth due to our error (and no backup is used), we will discuss a fair refund or adjustment, as outlined in your signed contract.
- No refunds for births that happen very quickly, scheduled cesareans, or situations where you do not contact us when labor begins.
- Changes in your birth plan (e.g., planned cesarean) do not change fees or refund eligibility unless otherwise agreed.

5. On-Call and Attendance
- On-call availability usually starts around [e.g., 38 weeks] or as agreed and continues until birth.
- We make every effort to attend your labor and birth, but we cannot guarantee 100% attendance due to things like travel issues, illness, family emergencies, or extremely fast labors.
- If we cannot attend, we will try to arrange a backup doula (if you agree) or provide support by phone/video.
- You agree to contact us promptly when labor begins or when you think you need us.

6. Your Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate contact and health information
- Communicate openly about your needs and preferences
- Understand we follow your hospital or birth center rules for visitors/support persons
- Notify us of any changes in your pregnancy, health, or plans

7. No Guarantees
Birth is unpredictable. We cannot guarantee:
- Any specific birth outcome
- Pain-free labor
- A vaginal birth
- Any particular experience

Our role is to support and advocate for your informed choices — not to control the medical result.

8. Liability and Important Disclaimers
Doulas provide comfort and support, not medical care. We are **not** liable for:
- Any injury, complication, loss, or damage to you, your baby, or others
- Outcomes of your pregnancy, labor, birth, or postpartum period
- Actions or advice from your medical providers

**You release and hold harmless** Starlight Bridge Birth, its doula(s), and any backups from all claims, demands, or lawsuits related to the services (except in cases of gross negligence or intentional harm, where allowed by law).

You agree to use our services at your own risk and assume responsibility for your own medical care

9. Confidentiality
We keep your personal and health information private and will only share it with your permission or as required by law.

 

10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms occasionally. The current version is always on our website. Continued use of services after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
